Caxton house is a family run business .Paul is the chef with over 40 years' experience in the hotel and restaurant trade. Following a time served apprenticeship, he worked his way up to become one
of the head chefs for Lloyds of London.
On leaving school Wendy pursued a career in Nursing for 12 years until she decided to follow her dream of running her own business. Her creative side lead her to choose floristry.
The next decade was committed to running her florist in Essex. During this time Wendy and her staff concentrated on providing high quality flowers and excellent service to their customers.
This paid off and in 2006 the shop successfully achieved the Top UK Independent Florist Shop Award.
Around this time we decided we wanted to combine our careers, Paul's passion and flair for food coupled with Wendy's caring for people. We wrote a wish list of the type of place they were
looking for then spent the next year searching. In 2007 they found Caxton house, which meet all their wishes for a perfect retreat by the sea.
We both practice the ancient Japanese art of Reiki; we feel this helps maintain the calm tranquil feeling throughout the house. We endeavour to provide a warm welcoming relaxing atmosphere
at Caxton house. Both of us believe in quality as opposed to quantity and in paying particular attention to the little details to make you stay that extra bit special, ensuring you enjoy
your stay & want to return. We believe that the highest level of customer service, a friendly welcome, and excellent produce are the very least that you - our guests deserve.
