Caxton house is perfectly situated to visit many Lincolnshire attractions. Just 10 minutes walk away is the town centre, the Embassy theatre  and main pleasure beach, not far from the railway and bus stations.

Relax on blue flag beaches; let the children splash about on the boating lakes or in the fairy dell maybe feed rescued seals at Natureland seal sanctuary  Stroll around the gardens; see the summer illuminations and take in SO Skegness arts and culture festival.

 

Further a field, you can follow the aviation trail; visit the Battle of Britain memorial flight at Conningsby, or East Lincolnshire Aviation museum. Explore National Trust properties  like Gunby hall and its beautiful gardens with links to Tennyson and Kipling, along with Tattersall castle.

 

In the gently undulating hills of the Wolds you will find traditional market towns; Louth with its historic Louth church, louth museum  and thriving market place, Alford windmill a five sailed working windmill with its splendid views of the surrounding country side, Alford manor house and Hacketts barn  bygones museum.  Discover  the little town of Spilsby the birthplace of the artic explorer Franklin, with its market, gift shops and cafes.

In  Lincoln places to see are Lincoln Castle  and Cathedral you could  pay a visit to Horncastle, with its varied antique shops, with connections to Joseph Banks and Kew gardens. 

 

In the fens at Wainfleet sample a tour at Batemans brewery. ( Just a stones throw from the railway station if you don’t want to drive) Visit  Boston where the Pilgrim Fathers Mayflower set of for the New World, see the stump  a fine example of a calendar church or take a river trip on the Boston belle  bird watching cruise. A little further there is the Springfields shopping outlet at Spalding.
